Job Description

Junior Lawyer – Compliance & Legal Advisory
Office Based – Chelmsford
£50k

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Junior Lawyer to join the compliance function within an established international business. Reporting to the General Counsel for Digital Imaging (Europe, EMEA, and APAC), this role offers exposure to a broad range of legal matters, making it an ideal next step for a legally trained professional with commercial experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Compliance & Risk Management

  1. Support the implementation and monitoring of compliance programs, including ethics and data privacy initiatives.
  2. Assist in identifying and mitigating legal risks associated with business operations.

Corporate Governance

  1. Maintain corporate records and regulatory filings.
  2. Support the preparation of board resolutions and ensure adherence to corporate governance standards.

Legal Advisory

  1. Provide day-to-day legal advice on regulatory compliance and general corporate matters.
  2. Conduct legal research and draft memos, policies, and guidelines.

Dispute Resolution

  1. Assist in managing disputes and litigation, liaising with external counsel when required.
  2. Help resolve internal and external legal matters efficiently.

Mergers & Acquisitions

  1. Support due diligence processes for potential acquisitions.
  2. Assist with the integration of newly acquired businesses.

Contract Review & Negotiation

  1. Review and advise on NDAs and other commercial agreements.

Training & Education

  1. Contribute to internal training sessions on key legal topics such as data protection, intellectual property, and contract management.

Requirements:

  1. Legal experience (ideally 1 year minimum)
  2. Experience reviewing commercial contracts
  3. Strong commercial awareness
