Job Description
Junior Lawyer – Compliance & Legal Advisory
Office Based – Chelmsford
£50k
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Junior Lawyer to join the compliance function within an established international business. Reporting to the General Counsel for Digital Imaging (Europe, EMEA, and APAC), this role offers exposure to a broad range of legal matters, making it an ideal next step for a legally trained professional with commercial experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance & Risk Management
- Support the implementation and monitoring of compliance programs, including ethics and data privacy initiatives.
- Assist in identifying and mitigating legal risks associated with business operations.
Corporate Governance
- Maintain corporate records and regulatory filings.
- Support the preparation of board resolutions and ensure adherence to corporate governance standards.
Legal Advisory
- Provide day-to-day legal advice on regulatory compliance and general corporate matters.
- Conduct legal research and draft memos, policies, and guidelines.
Dispute Resolution
- Assist in managing disputes and litigation, liaising with external counsel when required.
- Help resolve internal and external legal matters efficiently.
Mergers & Acquisitions
- Support due diligence processes for potential acquisitions.
- Assist with the integration of newly acquired businesses.
Contract Review & Negotiation
- Review and advise on NDAs and other commercial agreements.
Training & Education
- Contribute to internal training sessions on key legal topics such as data protection, intellectual property, and contract management.
Requirements:
- Legal experience (ideally 1 year minimum)
- Experience reviewing commercial contracts
- Strong commercial awareness
