Insight Investment is looking for an Investment Services Analyst to join the Technology Investment Services team in London. In this role, you will support Insights Investment applications both in Production and UAT with primary focus on Portfolio Management, OMS and Bespoke investment applications, all trade flow and pricing of Insight’s investment positions, including overnight batch processing. You will support associated applications used by the Front Office, Middle Office, Performance, Client Services and Risk to manage Insight’s book of OTC Derivative positions and Insight’s Risk systems, encompassing all traded positions and instruments on Equities, Fixed Income, Money Market, Futures, ETD Options and OTC Derivatives.

Role Responsibilities

Customer Relationship Management

  • Visibility – As part of the team ensure that the business have and are aware of the support that is available
  • Expectation Management – provide honest appraisals of expected solution timescales to users and if there is slippage, discuss with them in a timely manner, the reasons and actions being taken to minimise delays
  • Business Awareness – ensure that you are kept regularly up to date with key business strategies to maximise proactive support opportunities
  • Product Team interaction – Ensure a good working relationship with the product teams that we partner

Issue Management

  • Prioritisation – prioritise issue resolution based on business risk
  • Appropriate Solutions – make sure any resolution steps are appropriate to the urgency and risk
  • Ownership – ensure that you own any issues that you take on, even if another team is involved in the resolution.
  • Escalation – ensure that any issue that has the potential for the company to incur financial, reputational or regulatory impact is escalated to the Application Support Manager
  • Communication – ensure that users are provided with updates on resolution status at intervals appropriate to the severity of the problem

Product Teams Relationship Management

  • Identify and engage with sprints run by Product teams. This will ensure the final delivery is acceptable to the support team and we have sufficient knowledge and handover to deal with BAU queries
  • Testing is an integral part to larger projects/releases, and we are sometimes required to carry out testing to validate results and ensure timeframes are met
  • Identify improvements to standard processes and procedures. Seek to champion causes that you feel strongly about
  • Ensure any calls logged to product teams have been sufficiently investigated and that the urgency and potential for work arounds have been ascertained
  • Be prepared for releases to production and contribute informed opinion on implementation decisions
  • Members of the team will be asked to align to different product teams over time to help the transfer of knowledge and build on working relationships between Support and Product

Experience Required

  • Proven track record supporting the thinkFolio Investment Management Platform
  • Proven track record of providing support in a fast-paced, user-facing role
  • Strong SQL essential with any knowledge of Cadis, Control M, QlikView and Reporting Services advantageous
  • Structured approach to identification, definition and prioritisation of new work
  • Ability to make best use of available resources and identify where external or 3rd party resources are required
  • Can understand advice given from technical specialists and assess the impact in relation to actual requirements
  • Ability to work with incomplete information and to determine dependencies and constraints, likely to be of a highly technical nature
  • Deals confidently with conflict, able to maintain a strong professional relationship whilst resolving difficult problems
  • Ability to take ownership and action when required
  • Ability to match available technical solutions to business requirements
  • Openness and Integrity – Able to “do the right thing” under high pressure demands
