up to £85,000 Base Salary plus Benefits and Market Leading Bonus Package

Midlands

The primary purposes of the role are:

To lead the strategic planning, direction and management of professional Business Development services that support the delivery of agreed highly ambitious business plans, and firmwide objectives.

Building and managing the new business pipeline from targeting to lead generation whilst advising and supporting the team in their business development activities to drive cultural development and immediate results in relation to sales.

Building the pipeline using your own established and incredibly strong Midlands and wider UK network, utilising the following strong competencies in your toolkit:

  • Personal research, strategic targeting and direct outreach to UK entrepreneurs and business owners. You will be very active in the region meeting new potential clients on a daily basis.
  • Management of a team of junior business developers; utilising their bandwidth for the businesses goals and guiding them to become even better business developers.
  • Highly focussed on converting established and newly formed relationships into M&A activity (short term business sales, short term acquisitions / buy and build, longer term relationship management to convert in the medium/long term).
  • For longer term prospects, we offer a Consulting product that it would be your responsibility to manage the delivery of (with junior support). This product involves forming a deep understanding of the client’s business and offering strategic advice to improve the performance and ultimate M&A marketability of their business, summarised in a highly professional and standardised Consulting report.
  • You should be an active member of the Midlands and UK business community; enjoying and devoting time and effort to be highly successful. Commonly attending events, expositions, trade shows to generate business.

Co-ordinate with the UK and European marketing and business development strategy.

To act as business partner to Head of Region and colleagues engaging with and supporting them in the development and implementation of their own deliverables.

Devise innovative strategies for business growth and ensure key relationships, whether with intermediaries, existing clients or prospects, are managed in a strategic manner.

Skills and experience:

  • A mid-market and direct business owner business background including (but not limited to) the M&A, banking, wealth management, recruitment & search sectors.
  • Advising senior management team on business development strategies and activity.
  • Working with and advising senior managers to develop and successfully deliver business development plans to meet business objectives.
  • Knowledge of business development techniques, including in relation to driving cultural change, and engaging with the team to optimise BD opportunities.
  • Successfully developed B2B and B2C business development campaigns.
  • Qualified at degree level or equivalent.
  • Significant, demonstrable experience in a business development, sales and / or marketing role.
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office systems, of CRM and CMS systems.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills.
  • Demonstrable expertise and experience in developing and delivering business plans and managing organisational change.

Desirable experience:

  • Very strong understanding of the Midlands market both advisory and economic scene.
