Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is looking for a Reliability & Maintainability Engineer to primarily support our AH64E Programme based in Yeovil, United Kingdom. This position may occasionally be required to support the wider BDUK platform portfolio on an as required basis.
Boeing Defence UK operates an engineering matrix organisation consisting of engineering departments that deliver technical skills, expertise and products into our programmes. One of the Departments is the Product Support Engineering (ILS Engineering) which provides the product supportability infrastructure comprising the following technical areas:
- Logistic Support Analysis,
- Reliability and Maintainability,
- Reliability Centred Maintenance Analysis,
- Engineering Data Exploitation,
- Obsolescence Management,
- Integrated Logistic Support Engineering,
- Technical Publications.
The Reliability & Maintainability Engineer will support the R&M Lead Engineer reporting to the BDUK AH64E Product Support manager. The role is to provide forward leaning support to the Supply Chain Lead/Manager in the execution of their responsibilities with respect to spares provision and spares availability.
Responsibilities:
- Generate R&M and Data Exploitation artefacts to endorse the effectiveness of the Apache maintenance program and identify opportunities to enhance reliability, maintainability, supportability and availability.
- Support and augment current Supply Chain modelling and forecasting activities with a view to optimisation of spares availability.
- Provide analytical capability to transform information and data working with the Data Exploitation Capability.
- Support and review Fault Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) activities.
- Identify and explore potential R&M service improvement opportunities.
- Conduct a review of Maintenance Task Analysis, Technical documentation, Trend data and utilising the principles of Data Exploitation, perform detailed analysis to support recommendations that will improve reliability, maintainability, supportability and availability for assets under evaluation.
- Coordinate with the platform Design Organisation, BDUK Product Support Capabilities and Engineering Functions to ensure derived recommendations are underpinned by sound engineering rationale, quality and compliance requirements.
- The position will support Internal, Supplier and Customer meetings and provide inputs / feedback to Engineering and Supply Chain stakeholders as appropriate.
- Prepare material for briefings, meetings and formal working groups (Internal and External).
- Work in close conjunction with the Material & Demand Forecasting Team in reflecting the outcome of R&M analysis within the scope of SCM modelling activities.
- Mentoring Material & Demand Forecasting Team members in the use of Technical Information, Work as directed by the ILS Lead Engineer.

Required Qualifications (Experience/Education/Skills):
- Essential to have prior experience in the field of Reliability and Maintainability Engineering.
- Essential to have an understanding of either the Civil or Military Regulatory articles.
- Experience of working with International Support standards such as Def Stan 00-600, ASD/AIA Suite of S Series ILS Specifications is desirable.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Preferred Qualifications (Experience/Education/Skills):
- An understanding of Support Engineering in the Military environment,
- Proven ability to drive first time quality.
- An ability to read and interpret Aircraft Drawing sets and associated engineering artefacts.
- Authoring of Support Product documentation.
- Ability to work with the cross functional business stakeholders to identify optimisation opportunities.
- Previous practical experience of Aircraft maintenance is highly desirable.
Please Note: The successful candidate will be required to undergo an intrusive security clearance process, which will require 5 years uninterrupted residency in the UK.
