Electrical Engineer
Location: Glasgow, Scotland
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000

The consultancy works across various sectors including aviation, energy, cities and development, education, and defence. They are looking for an experienced, motivated Electrical Engineer to join their delivery team, working with designers globally.

This position involves working on a 7-year framework, delivering specialist nuclear technical services valued between £250 million to £400 million to support MOD organizations. You will be required to be client-facing and involved in the day-to-day design of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand project briefs.
  • Design and specify all Electrical Building Services systems including power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, and lightning protection.
  • Produce detailed calculations using industry-standard software tools.
  • Prepare technical specifications using NBS.
  • Collaborate with the BIM team to prepare models and drawings, with a working understanding of Autodesk Revit.
  • Represent the company at meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Conduct site surveys, inspections, and monitor site works.
  • Write reports and technical notes.
  • Maintain complete records and archives to company standards.
  • Adhere to all quality, environmental, and governance processes.
  • Manage own workload and update the forward plan of workload regularly.
  • Understand budget costings and manage elements of project delivery.
  • Review progress and report any anomalies to the project lead.
  • Assist with the technical development of junior staff.

Minimum Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering and preferably working towards Chartership. You must be proficient in digital tools such as Amtech/ProDesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS, and Microsoft tools.
