What is the opportunity?
This is a phenomenal opportunity to be a key member of our UK Engineering & Delivery Team. You will be responsible for leading the technical test team to ensure testing objectives are delivered on our UK Mortgage Platforms. In this Role, you will
The Test Automation Engineer will be responsible for producing automated test scripts to support key software applications with automation a key factor and embedding within our Mortgage IT estate. Close interaction with stakeholders will be integral to the role, including business owners, Enterprise Service colleagues and other partners.

  1. Become an Integral and effective member of the IT delivery team to develop a strong understanding of project and testing objectives
  2. Attend regular meetings & sprint ceremonies
  3. Contribute to implementing automated testing within the DevOps (CI/CD) pipeline.
  4. Implement test automation framework in Java using Selenium, Cucumber, Eclipse, Jenkins and Maven
  5. Coding and developing automated integration, system and regression tests.
  6. Build test conditions and scripts to address business and technical use cases
  7. Enforce to all the Group controls, processes and solutions to minimise business and IT risk.
  8. Operate in compliance with all Group, Legal and Regulatory requirements and standards.

Essential Skills & Experience
Experience of test automation frameworks with practical knowledge and experience in coding Selenium and Java.

  1. Experience developing in Java, Microsoft and/or Oracle SQL and working within Agile development environment, including Test Driven Development / Behaviour Driven Development
  2. Understanding and experience of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Testing (CT)
  3. Experience applying Software Security standard processes.
  4. Capacity to operate on a standalone basis on some activities yet work collaboratively with others as required – self-motivated and driven individual.

What will make you stand out?
Experience in C# .Net, Gherkin and/or Spec Flow, Knowledge of Extent Reports.

  1. DevOps experience (Jenkins or Azure)
  2. Knowledge of Mortgage systems

The UK IT Engineering & Delivery team are part of the Enterprise Services within Bank of Ireland and are responsible for the full end-to-end delivery and support of a wide range of Mortgage applications. Services provided by the highly skilled UK IT team range from systems integration architecture, design, security, application and API delivery including platform tooling and support. We deliver flexible and scalable technology that is secure to enable our customers, colleagues and communities to thrive.
