Project Manager – Subsidence
North London / Hertfordshire
Permanent
£50,000 – 60,000 plus car/van or car allowance
The successful Subsidence Project Manager will be joining a strong and established team in a successful and well-established company; dealing with subsidence claim reinstatement works.
You will need to be located in or around the Harrow, Hemel Hempstead or Watford area and prepared to travel as required (London/South East only). This role will be based in the office when not out on site managing projects.
Experience in managing property refurbishments / reinstatement projects is essential. You will also need experience dealing with a variety of structural projects; subsidence, sub-structure, impact damage etc. including the financial management of the projects.
Job role and responsibilities
This Project Manager role will:
- Manage a case load of subsidence damage property reinstatement projects
- Oversee the repair phase of both domestic and commercial property claims
- Attend site to schedule, price, and scope works
- Conduct a pre-contract meeting with the relevant contractor
- Manage the direct trades/sub-contractors to completion of works
- Validate variation requests throughout the project as necessary
- Ensure Health & Safety and CDM obligations are met and carry out H&S site audits
- Manage and report on the progress of each claim throughout the process
- Cost management throughout the repair phase of the project
You will be working with a supportive team including an Engineer, other Contracts/Project Managers, admin support staff, trades, and a solid network of contractors.
Requirements
- Experience of working within the building/construction industry and solid experience as a Project/Contracts Manager
- Experience project managing property repair works – ideally for a loss adjuster, insurance company, or specialist contractor
- Subsidence and therefore underpinning/piling knowledge/experience
- Knowledge of the home insurance claims process, perils, and cover surrounding subsidence/impact damage
- Asbestos Handling, CDM, H&S, Party Wall Act knowledge/experience
- A building/technical related qualification or certificate would be advantageous (not essential with the right background)
- Strong customer service & organisational skills, written & verbal communication skills
- IT literate and ideally have some experience of client portals/systems such as; Symbility, Xactware, Blueprint
