Engineering Manager

About you: You will be joining Core ERP which is a sub-division within The Access Group’s ERP Division. We empower businesses with cloud-based software solutions that streamline operations across a range of industries. We are seeking an experienced and resourceful Engineering Manager to shape the strategic direction of our expanding Lightyear teams within Belfast, driving technical excellence, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. You will be responsible for leading engineering projects, ensuring high-quality software delivery, and aligning technical efforts with business goals. This role will focus on building strong partnerships with your engineering and product peers based in the UK and Romania. You will champion a collaborative development approach, driving talent growth, and providing support for excellent engineering practices across our geographically distributed workforce.
Day-to-day, you will:
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Establish strong, productive relationships with the P&E Managers across our Core ERP products. Facilitate the sharing of best practices, coordinate technical dependencies, and champion engineering excellence throughout.
- Team Development in Belfast and Romania: Focus on attracting, onboarding, and developing a high-performing engineering talent pool. Provide guidance, mentorship, and clear career paths for engineering staff within their respective product teams.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure that the Belfast-based engineering team has the necessary resources, support, and alignment to ensure the smooth operation of the Lightyear product. Drive proactive monitoring, reliability, and responsiveness culture.
- Process Improvement: Partner with peers to identify and implement strategies for automation, quality assurance, and cost optimization within the team.
- Relationship Building: Foster a strong sense of trust and interdependency between the team and other engineering teams through clear communication and shared learning opportunities.
Your skills and experiences might also include:
- Experience in software engineering, ideally within the SaaS domain.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple locations.
- Experience with cloud technologies and DevOps practices is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and align teams.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance technical priorities with business objectives.
- Familiarity with ERP & Finance/Accounting is a plus, but not a requirement.
