Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Manufacturing Sector

A growing and forward-thinking manufacturing company is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to take charge of the maintenance and engineering operations within its production facility. Operating in a specialist industry, the company prides itself on high-quality production, efficiency, and technical expertise. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth running of the site, maintaining equipment and driving continuous improvement.
The Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing all engineering activities, ensuring machinery and equipment are well maintained, minimising downtime and implementing long-term efficiency improvements. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive problem-solver who can manage day-to-day maintenance as well as longer-term projects. You will also liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure the best engineering solutions for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of site engineering, ensuring the production facility runs efficiently.
- Identify and resolve equipment faults to reduce downtime and improve output.
- Implement preventative maintenance strategies to extend equipment lifespan.
- Maintain health and safety compliance across all engineering activities.
- Manage external contractors and suppliers, sourcing cost-effective solutions where required.
- Support process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new technical initiatives.
- Maintain a well-organised workshop, ensuring essential tools and spare parts are readily available.
- Work closely with other departments to align engineering solutions with business goals.
The Ideal Candidate
