What we need from you
The Group, Conference & Events Manager is responsible for leading a high-performing team, driving revenue through efficient bookings, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role oversees group sales, conference & event planning, and reservations, ensuring seamless operations, strong client relationships, and optimal revenue generation.

- Lead, train, and motivate the Reservations, Groups, Conference & Events team, fostering a high-performance culture and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Convert inquiries, upsell, and cross-sell hotel services (restaurant, bar, spa, meeting space, room upgrades) while strategically managing availability and pricing to maximize revenue.
- Represent the hotel at networking events, trade shows, and promotional activities to generate new business opportunities and expand client relationships.
- Present key performance reports and insights to senior management, track KPIs, and analyse market trends to develop and implement strategies that drive business performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and key stakeholders, ensuring repeat business and satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with Marriott brand and operational standards, deliver exceptional service, and oversee the M&E booking process for seamless planning and execution.
- Oversee accurate handling of room and group reservations, ensuring high occupancy rates, guest satisfaction, and that all information entered into Opera PMS is accurate.
- Regularly review reservations, conference, and events strategies to ensure alignment with business objectives and to adjust according to market trends and revenue opportunities.
- Liaise with the Revenue Manager on rate loading, room type availability, and overbooking situations to ensure smooth operations. Participate in hotel strategy setup and its application.
- Ensure timely posting of prepayments and handle special event bookings, ensuring deadlines and company procedures are met.
- Facilitate cross-training for relevant departments on reservations basics, ensuring all teams are equipped to meet guest expectations.
- Ensure the accurate checking, charging, and chasing of no-shows.
- Check the arrival list 30, 14, 7, and 24 hours prior to guest arrival to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure the achievement of satisfactory mystery shopper and call objectives as per company guidelines.
- Ensure all rate issues, rate loading, and room type availability are communicated accurately with the Revenue Manager and properly handled in the system.

- Proven experience in group sales, event management, and hotel reservations.
- Strong leadership, sales, and revenue management skills.
- Knowledge of Opera PMS and Opera Sales & Catering.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to analyse data and drive business performance.
