About this role:
Renaissance Global are recruiting for a Test Analyst to join our growing team.
As a Test Analyst with Renaissance, you will deliver high quality software to meet customer and commercial needs in accordance with defined standards, best practice and agreed deadlines. You will be responsible for identifying software quality issues and customer specific issues. As a Test Analyst, you will actively participate in teams using their current methodology.
Test Analyst Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities can be broken down into the following areas:
Testing to a high quality incorporating:
- Creation of test artefacts as required
- Review test artefacts and source documents as required
- Test/Retest execution within defined phases (e.g. System, Automation, Regression, Performance, Ad Hoc etc.)
- Record and communicate issues found during test phases
- Ensure appropriate recording of key information (e.g. test results, meetings, coverage, progress)
- Provide test estimates as required
- Adhere to test processes/standards and contribute to process improvement
- Escalate risks to milestones and deliverables
- Endeavour to understand the users of the products and their needs
Mentoring and Leadership:
- Share knowledge with peers and team members
- Contribute new ideas
- Actively increase levels of skills and knowledge
Collaboration and Relationships:
- Work with current lead/team to agree priorities, provide estimates, report progress and identify risks/impediments and escalate
- Collaborate with other testers to maintain and share knowledge
- Engage with sales, customers and 3rd line technical support to understand issues affecting them
- Work with technology colleagues (e.g. Architects, Business Analysts, Developers) to understand usage and design purpose
- Engage with other relevant stakeholders as required
- Carry out such tasks as directed to meet the needs of the business
Skills and Experience Required:
To be considered for the role of Test Analyst, we are looking for someone with either Edtech or SAAS experience and an excellent understanding of relevant test principles and best practice.
You will also have:
- Awareness of relevant automation tools
- Good domain or product knowledge and experience in designing and implementing test artefacts
- A degree in computer science (or another numerate discipline)
- ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing

Additional Information:
This is a hybrid role based out of our Houghton-le-Spring office (Evolve Centre, Cygnet Way, Houghton le Spring, DH4 5QY) with the expectation of some travel to other offices as required for team meetings.
We offer a competitive salary of between £40,000 – £50,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus lots of amazing benefits:
- 25 days per annum plus bank holidays (3 to be used for our Christmas shutdown)
- A day off for your birthday, to be used in the month of your birthday
- Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week – Generally 9.00 am to 5:30 pm (with an unpaid hour for lunch daily), subject to the demands of the role
