Oxford Economics, a leading economic forecasting and consulting firm, is looking to hire a Public Relations Specialist, based in our London office.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about media relations, journalism and corporate communications. This role will play a pivotal role in executing Oxford Economics’ Communications Strategy.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Global Public Relations, the successful candidate excels at crafting compelling press releases and building fruitful relationships with key media contacts worldwide, with emphasis on the EMEA region. The incumbent also possesses a strong understanding of global economic affairs, the global media landscape, and the news media cycle.
The role will be based in our Westminster, London office with an expectation of at least 2 days per week in office.
Key Responsibilities

1. In compliance with the firm’s Global Communication Strategy, pursue and maintain strong, fruitful relationships with media contacts, editors and journalists worldwide.
2. Write and distribute clear, concise, and impactful press releases in English and other languages, preferable in French and/or German.
3. Monitor and analyze media coverage and the effectiveness of communication strategies.
4. Manage and maintain updated all media lists for specific geographic regions and industries.
5. In coordination with team leadership, plan and execute successful events, including press conferences, media webinars, and industry seminars.
6. Assist in creating engaging communication materials, such as newsletters, and articles.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

1. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
2. Experience of 3-5 years in media relations or journalism in a global setting.
3. Impeccable writing and editing skills, with experience in crafting impactful press releases.
4. Fluency in at least one other European language other than English, preferably French and German.
5. Knowledge of world macroeconomic trends and socio-political affairs.
6. Skilled at distilling complex concepts into clear and concise language.
7. Proficiency with Roxhill, Meltwater, and/or similar media monitoring tools.
8. A collegial approach, combined with a strong desire for innovation and a fresh perspective on corporate communications.
