GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a hugely successful, specialist surface treatment provider located in Oxfordshire. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for a Production Team Leader to join their team on a full-time permanent contract.
This position is working rotational shifts 6-2 and 2-10 offering a highly competitive salary of up to 40,000 per annum which is dependant on relevant experience.
The successful Production Team Leader will have a background in a manufacturing or a production environment within a senior position and is used to working well in a small team.
The Production Team Leader is responsible and accountable for their shift. They will work under the Production Manager to ensure that production runs smoothly, and targets are hit. They will perform key functions during Production managers absence or as and when required. They will be able to perform Line supervisor duties in multiple areas.
Production Team Leader main duties:
- Will be able to run a line in Line Leaders absence.
- Be responsible for some administration tasks required to run the business (including planning shift work)
- Supervise and Lead the shift- Team reports directly to Team leader. Team Leader reports to Production Manager
- Take ownership of the shift and any issues.
- Oversee day to day operations
- Communicates goals and deadlines to team
- Ensure processes are followed at all times.
- Ensure Health and Safety rules are followed at all times.
- Responsible for Production Targets on their shift
- Monitor Team performance and report on Metrics
- Overlooks inventory stock.
- 60% of day to be direct hours (productive), 40% on management and administration
- Reports to MPS on production performance against plan
Production Team Leader required skills and experience:
- Previous Team Leader experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team.
- This is an active role where the operator is on their feet for most of shift.
- Understanding of 5S improvements within a engineering environment.
- Understanding of Health and Safety regulations within the workplace.
- Computer literate
- Problem Solver

- Makes decisions
