An interim opportunity for 6 months initially and likely to extend, for a Policy Specialist in IT Security/ISO 27001 standard to join this international Tels group in their Security Governance team, working on a hybrid basis (3 days a week in the office based in Reading area or other South East locations).

Your new role

1. You will maintain a library of information security policies and standards.
2. You will update and produce new information security policies and standards.
3. You will liaise with various Technical Security & IT Risk/Continuity teams across the business for support in producing information security policies and standards.
4. You will support other security governance work-streams linked to security documentation.

What you’ll need to succeed

1. A good understanding of current best practice in information security governance such as ISO 27001 standard and NIST framework.
2. Experience of writing formal documents, policies and standards through the full lifecycle.
3. The ability to utilise Microsoft suite for collaborative and efficient development of documents, including use of MS SharePoint and MS Teams.
4. Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to push back when required.
5. Good technical knowledge of current security best practice and the ability to communicate with technical teams and understand technical language.
6. Ability to communicate and influence a wide range of senior stakeholders including security SMEs (architecture, engineering, vulnerability, and incident management).
