Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team with expertise in virtualisation, storage, backups & VDI.\\nReporting to Tech Operations Manager, you will be working as a part of a small team providing remote and on-site server and storage management and supporting the business in the UK & International.\\nWe are seeking an experienced engineer that requires minimum supervision, ability to use initiative to solve problems and create efficiencies. The ideal candidate will be able to lead infrastructure projects such as hardware refreshes, storage expansions and data centre migrations.\\nResponsibilities\\n * Design, implement, and manage resilient infrastructure solutions that ensure optimal reliability, scalability, and performance.\\n * Installing and configuring server hardware and software, ensuring systems are optimized for performance and security.\\n * Performing regular updates, patches, and backups to keep servers running smoothly and securely.\\n * Maintaining records of server configurations, procedures, and changes for reference and compliance.\\n * Collaborate with other IT teams to support applications and ensure seamless integration.\\nRequirements & Skills\\n * Excellent knowledge of SAN solutions primarily NetApp build / configure & maintain\\n * Excellent knowledge of hosting platforms Dell PowerEdge Server & Cisco USC\\n * Excellent knowledge in the management and maintenance of VMWare based virtualised estates Clusters / HA / Replication / Distributed Switches / vCenter upgrades & host patching\\n * Experience in Veeam and other Backup technologies\\n * Experience in migrations for data & infrastructure.\\n * Good understanding of automation and scripting; comfortable creating PowerShell script for infrastructure automation and efficiencies.\\n * Skilled in using monitoring too – SolarWinds\\n * Good understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, iSCSI).\\n * Good understanding of Activity directory on a GPO level\\n * Several years of experience in server and storage engineering roles.\\n * Proven track record managing enterprise-grade infrastructure in a production environment
