Head of Project Management – £80,000 – £90,000 + £4,800 car allowance + 15% bonus (paid quarterly)

This business has over £1bil turnover and is looking to increase their Professional Services revenues by 200% and become better known as a services organisation rather than ‘box shifter’.

Key Skills

  • Ability to lead, build and drive forward a Project Management function
  • Ensure smooth project lifecycle by working closely with other key leaders including Sales, Presales, Consultancy and Engineering.
  • Ability to bring teams together and adopt ‘one team’ mentality
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Team Leads, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, portfolio management, and resource planning.
  • Demonstrable track record of managing large-scale IT Projects and programs across broad technology stack including Cloud, Modern Work, DC, Network, Security.
  • Able to work on bid and tender processes, including pre-sales engagement.
  • Review sales bids ensuring accurate/realistic project delivery days are given
  • Review, track and report on project budgets, forecasts, and profitability.
  • Team is currently 12 people consisting of Team Lead, PMs, Project Co-ordinators

The role is home based with some occasional office visits. When running a team, it’s imperative you get together for big customer kick offs, key meetings, get-togethers and to drive positive culture across the business. No better way to do that, than by meeting people and them getting to know you/you know them.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Data driven analysis and reviews on customers, team and get team on board with the importance of being data driven
  • Promote professional growth to teams across Project Management, ensuring high performance and driving staff satisfaction
  • Build plans for career development and succession planning – always giving your team something to strive for
  • Conduct monthly Project Management report packs (from data) including finances, utilisation and delivery performance.
  • Strive for perfection across team, aiming to complete all projects in time and to the highest possible standards
  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards, ensuring accurate visibility of project status and PM performance.
  • Assist in scoping new opportunities when needed, identifying risks and aligning sales/project team capabilities.
  • When needed, act as final escalation point for Project Management function
