Job Role:Community Engagement & PR Officer Location:Warrenpoint Head Office Working Hours:Negotiable Responsible:Directors JOB SUMMARY The Community Engagement & PR Officer will play a central role in building and maintaining relationships within the local community, engaging with residents, businesses, and organizations to promote community initiatives and address local needs. This position involves organizing and leading outreach programs, fostering strong community partnerships, and facilitating resources that benefit the community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for community development, strong interpersonal skills, and experience in engagement or outreach activities. As well as this the person will take the lead responsibility for coordinating internal communications & event celebrating the positive work the company completes and maintain company website and LinkedIn platforms. Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have relevant experience a track record of engaging with a wide range of community and social groups, experience of managing budgets, service achievement and innovation, be motivated, community focused, and possess sound managerial and communication skills. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage diverse groups within the community. Build trust and maintain ongoing communication with community members, local organizations, and businesses. Attend community meetings, events, and forums to understand and represent community needs. Act as a liaison between the community and the Business, fostering positive relationships. Identify and cultivate partnerships with local nonprofits, businesses, schools, and government agencies. Provide regular reports on community engagement activities and outcomes. Assist in managing budgets for events, resources, and outreach programs. Coordinate volunteers for community events and engagement efforts. Report on contractual CSR targets internally and with clients Assist HR in preparing BuySocial reports and its precursors. Health & Safety: Adhere to all health & safety regulations and company policy at all times. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Third level relevant qualification e.g. communications and marketing Strong and demonstrable project management, planning and organization skills, with the experience of keeping projects on schedule and an ability to manage and organize workloads and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to draft reports for internal and external use. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to influence and engage a broad range of stakeholders, including senior managers. Experienced working to tight deadlines Experienced in working to high levels of accuracy and detail with data input. Excellent IT skills, including MS Office, with an ability to develop competence with new systems. Experience of developing new processes and reviewing existing processes to improve effectiveness. Attributes/Skills: The successful candidate should: Be capable of working on your own initiative. Ability to work methodically and with attention to detail. Good communication and organisational skills Have a good timekeeping and attendance record. Being a good team player Demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal direction. In addition, The role may require the successful candidate to undertake work specific training on the job or externally.
