12-month FTC Maternity Cover / Secondment
As a member of the GAM UK / BlueBay Financial Controller and Reporting Team, the incumbent will support the Head of Corporate Accounting to produce the financial and regulatory reporting for the Global Asset Management business in the UK and Europe whilst maintaining and enhancing the internal controls over financial reporting.
The role represents an ideal opportunity to develop an end-to-end skill set covering revenue and expense recognition, financial controls, regulatory reporting, and audit interactions, as well as developing an understanding of how this business operates within the legal entity framework and regulatory landscape.
What will you do?
- Statutory financial accounting – responsibility for timely and accurate reporting in accordance with International Accounting Standards and enterprise timelines.
- Internal controls over financial reporting – responsibility for the preparation of reconciliations, analytical review, and the operation of Enterprise controls.
- Regulatory / Head Office reporting – responsibility for the preparation or review of financial / statistical returns to the regulator and detailed information to support the notes to the financial statements of RBC.
- Internal capital and risk assessment (ICARA) – responsibility for the preparation of the finance inputs into the ICARA process.
- Financial statement audit – responsibility for engaging with the audit team.
- Line Management and oversight of the accounts payable function – controlling expenses for an accurate profit & loss and balance sheet.
- Initiatives – responsible for leading enhancements to the control environment.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Qualified accountant with two years PQE.
- Experienced in legal entity financial control, ideally from financial services / banking.
- Collaborative and willing to support all team members.
- Detail orientated; Organisation skills, and ability to prioritise effectively.
- Confident MS Excel skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-have
- Big 4 public practice or top/ leading Financial Institution employment experience.
- People management experience.
- IFRS experience.
