Tech Lead SAP Commerce Backend Developer

To technically lead a team that is focused on creating or implementing changes to an SAP Commerce project. To work closely with technical architects, the expert services team, project managers, the business analyst, QA, and the development team to ensure the best solutions can be delivered on time, and on budget. To be the gate keeper of technical solutions, technical quality, security, and performance., Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of SAP Commerce projects

• Mentor and manage a team of developers and ensure the delivery of high-quality code, providing support when needed

• Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth integration with other systems and applications

• Keep up to date with the latest advancements in SAP Commerce technology and evaluate the potential impact on project delivery

• Proactively identify and resolve technical issues and ensure the timely delivery of projects

• Be able to confidently present technical subjects to a technical or non-technical audience

• Individually contribute to SAP Commerce projects, working on new implementations or supporting existing Continuous Improvement projects

• Be able to communicate well within the team both face-to-face and via electronic means, e.g., Slack, email, Jira

• Communicate directly with the client in whatever form is necessary for the task, e.g., face-to-face meeting, email, Jira, or Slack

• Work closely with the Project Manager and Business Analyst to ensure the project is run smoothly

• Be responsible for, and take technical ownership of code deployments into test and product environments

• Design, develop and document backend implementation that comply with industry standard best practices

• Work with the client to understand any technical requirements and ensure the provided solution is designed to meet those requirements

• Join sprint ceremony meetings to help elaborate ticket detail and estimate the effort required for stories, tickets, and tasks

• Own the code review strategy for the project, either overseeing peer reviews or reviewing pull requests yourself

• Be aware of current coding standards and write code that passes Sonar quality gates.

• Where appropriate, contribute to and oversee the writing of unit tests and endeavour to achieve full coverage of new code

Considerable experience as a Technical Lead or a Senior SAP Commerce developer

• Excellent understanding of Spring Framework especially MVC, Security, Integration

• Long-standing experience of developing applications using SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris)

• Smartedit, Backoffice, promotions, adaptive search (Solr)

• Strong understanding of SAP Commerce Cloud v2

• Strong leadership skills

Desirables

• SAP Commerce Cloud Developer qualification

• Atlassian toolset (Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket)

• Experience working with OCC (including exposure to Spartacus or other headless frameworks)
