Salary: £33,000

Contract: June 2026

Reports to: National Campaigns and Organising Manager

HOPE not hate are looking for two Local Campaigns Organiser to work out of the North East of England and Wales respectively on campaigns to support communities susceptible to the far right.

  • Working in local communities to build local resistance to the far right.
  • Working with communities to identify key local issues that may form campaigns, in the run up to local elections.
  • Building capacity by mobilising and organising key HOPE not hate supporters.
  • Providing support to the wider C&C team including identifying potential ‘campaign heroes’ across the country from these events who we can work with to create short films and social media posts to celebrate hope
  • Organising hopeful community events in your patch and developing relationships with key community groups and leaders.
  • Capacity committing, you will work with wider C&C team on our national campaigning agenda including our campaigns to strengthen regulation on social media companies and to provide racial, social and economic justice for communities across the UK.

The type of person we are looking for

  • Someone with a deep respect for local communities who are susceptible to the far right, who is living in the region currently and has local connections. Our role as HOPE not hate is to work proactively with these communities, without judgement and with great sensitivity.
  • Someone with experience in a political or community organising role with excellent political judgement
  • Someone with a clean driving licence and access to their own vehicle
  • Someone who is proactive, suggesting new ideas and approaches to make our work as successful as it can be.
  • Someone who can demonstrate emotional resilience when working on a tough issue in a high pressure climate. We understand that our work can be stressful and have support in place for all team members who need it but we encourage applicants to think carefully about whether they are prepared to work on this subject area day in day out

About the team:

This role sits in the Campaigns and Communications Department of HOPE not hate working alongside our C&C Director, Press Lead, Digital Lead, Content Officer and National Campaigns and Organising Lead . You will be part of a small organising team making an impact in building resistance to the far right across the UK
