This company specializes in the design and installation of ground-mounted and commercial rooftop solar systems for a large portfolio of clients across the UK. They have strong ties to the oldest renewable energy company in the UK and have built a solid reputation within the commercial solar industry, leading to an exciting period of growth.
In this role, you will work alongside the design team to create CAD designs for commercial PV and battery storage systems that align with project specifications. You will collaborate with other departments to provide technical support to subcontractors during the installation phase, ensuring successful project completion.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the solar/renewables sector and be proficient in using PVsol, PVsyst, and CAD. Outstanding communication skills are essential, along with excellent knowledge of MS Office. Experience with Google Sheets and HubSpot CRM is desirable.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced design engineer from the solar PV or renewables sector to take on a new challenge, supporting commercial-grade solar projects.
The Role:
- Manage and complete design packages for project proposals from clients (including tenders).
- Complete grid connection applications, attend connection surgeries, and engage with DNOs throughout the project.
- Work on PVsol and PVsyst to complete designs to exceptional standards.
- Conduct initial yield assessments of potential solar sites and perform data analysis to determine array size and layout.
- Office-based in Leeds.
The Person:
- BSc in Electrical or Renewable Energy Engineering.
- Experience in the solar PV industry and proficiency in PVsol and PVsyst.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of HubSpot CRM and Google Sheets is desirable.
- Located in or commutable to the Leeds office.
