The Oracle Business Support Enterprise Finance Senior Analyst is responsible for Oracle 11i, R12, and Cloud front-line business support for the General Ledger and AHCS/Hub modules. The position supports a global team that is responsible for various setups, scheduling, error monitoring/resolution, mappings, regression testing, etc.
This is a great opportunity to grow within the business and be exposed to many areas of Finance, IT and Accounting. This position would be ideally based in Witney, Oxfordshire and working a hybrid working pattern.
Principal Accountabilities
- Provide quick response to functional user questions/problems for Oracle modules and business applications.
- Generate and assist with timely help ticket resolution for Oracle modules and business applications.
- Preserve efficient operation of Oracle modules and business applications through appropriate testing, configuring and patching/upgrading.
- Support Oracle module and business applications improvement process by prioritizing and addressing functional user concerns through development of appropriate functional and technical solutions.
- Support rollouts of existing Oracle modules or business applications to other operating units, as well as new Oracle modules or business applications as approved.
- Support assessment of new Oracle module or business applications under consideration for implementation or purchase.
- Provide a positive and energetic work environment which fosters teamwork and professional growth.
Build Teamwork
- Utilize multi-dimensional project teams in providing appropriate systems and support.
- Support multi-divisional project teams in the migration of processes, procedures and personnel into the financial organization.
- Act as liaison between the business process owners, system users, and the information technology resources responsible for ongoing system development.
- Work closely with functional analysts, technical developers, data base administrators and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and end user satisfaction.
- Provide a positive work environment that cultivates creativity and collaboration.
- Communicate effectively with customers to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
- Facilitate team, technical and client meetings and delegate follow-up ensuring resulting action.
Analysis & Solution
- Possess an intermediate understanding of our Oracle modules and business applications’ functionality, standard programs and reports.
- Understand the business issues and data challenges of our company and industry. Analyze client organization’s strengths and weaknesses and suggests improvement areas.
- Document and analyze required information and data. Prepare requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations.
- Analyze, document and improve existing or new workflows, processes and standards.
- Continuously improve and consolidate functions with respect to controlling and/or reducing costs and maximizing the efficient use of business and departmental resources.
- Facilitate meetings and follow up with resulting action items.
- Seek opportunities continuously to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
- Identify client organization’s strengths and weaknesses and suggest areas of improvement to address and resolve business issues.
- Push creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and client mindsets.
- Suggest and implement areas for improvement internal processes along with possible solutions.
- Use best practices and tools for enhancement or project execution.
- Exhibit personal ownership and accountability for continuous improvement.
Operational Management
- Establish effective working relationship with clients. Value internal and external clients and responds to their needs as they arise.
- Provide training and documentation for supported applications.
- Utilize existing systems to track and manage requests and issues.
- Provide guidance concerning business implications of application(s) supported.
- Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions where needed.
- Prepare, review, and edit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution within the group.
- Provide application and business process knowledge. Train and mentor other business analysts as required.
- Facilitate team, technical and client meetings.
FORMAL EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, IT or business related field.
- Master’s degree in business related field.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- 3-4 years’ experience in business analyst/technology related roles.
- Europe OBS Support: Oral and written English language capability.
- Excellent systems/process orientation with demonstrated critical, analytical thinking, organization and problem solving.
- Possess moderate S-W business knowledge including Global SW structure, business processes, operations, and goals.
- 4+ years’ experience in business analyst/technology related roles supporting ERP financial applications such as Oracle.
- Possess advanced S-W business knowledge including Global SW structure, business processes, operations, and goals.
- Ability to use a personal computer for extended periods of time (may cause eye strain).
TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrate an intermediate ability bringing business and technical team members together in a changing environment or creating a business process.
- Possess an intermediate knowledge level of our business technical applications to exploit capabilities to offer our company enhanced functionality and streamlined processes.
- Proven strength in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Supported system upgrades, enhancements or rollouts of a business application(s).
- 0-5% travel.
