Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Using our manufacturer’s technology, design and implement energy storage systems for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate the feasibility of battery installations.
  • Create engineering plans, specifications, and layouts for electricity storage implementation.
  • Perform system simulations and energy yield predictions to optimise system performance.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, feasibility studies and cost estimates.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers and clients to ensure successful project execution.
  • Liaise and work with software designers, including university departments, to improve battery storage control systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance during the installation, commissioning and operation of solar energy systems.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in battery technology and renewable energy storage solutions.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the scale-up and commercialisation of new battery technologies.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience in battery installation design, management and implementation.
  • Strong understanding of electrochemical principles and battery materials.
  • Strong understanding of software control of energy storage systems.
  • Proficiency in battery modelling and simulation software.
  • Hands-on experience with battery testing equipment and methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations related to energy storage systems.
  • Passion for renewable energy and sustainability.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with energy storage systems for solar, wind or other renewable energy applications.
  • Certified engineer.
  • Familiarity with battery management systems (BMS) and power electronics.
  • Knowledge of lifecycle analysis and sustainability assessment for battery technologies.
  • Experience with project management and coordination in a technical environment.
