The company boasts a flat-management structure, headed by a highly respected leadership team and is well-known for employing some of the most talented Underwriters in the market.
Staff in this company find its approach very refreshing – entrepreneurial, innovative, and a place where people can really make a difference. As such, this is a really exciting time for Underwriters to join the company, particularly as along with its growth comes great career-development opportunities.
Your primary focus will be to write Liability risks within the Construction sector (predominantly for Roofers & Scaffolders). This is a sector where our client is flourishing (growing 20% year on year), and benefiting from a constantly growing number of broker enquiries The company already writes a great deal of business in the South East, and in line with its strategic growth plans, is now looking to capitalise on opportunities within the regions.
Using your technical expertise, you will typically focus on writing new and renewal Liability risks with premiums typically averaging around £5,000. This is by no means a sales-style role as a wealth of enquiries are readily available. However, ideally you will be able to bring new broker relationships to the company (or bolster existing ones), and you’ll be happy to promote Group products in the market. This will include attending meetings, either in person at brokers’ offices, or virtually.

It is essential that you have experience of underwriting Liability risks, together with strong negotiation skills. Just as importantly, you’ll display a flexible, ‘hands on’ approach to underwriting, whilst generating good profit and healthy loss ratios across your account. You will also pride yourself on developing your technical skills, keeping abreast of industry developments, as well as any changes to inhouse or FCA regulations.
You will receive a salary of up to £60,000 (Potentially more for outstanding candidates), plus a highly lucrative bonus and a host of benefits including 4 X DIS, free family travel insurance and subsidised gym memberships.
