About the role:
Join the British Museum in this unique new role supporting a new programme of masterplan and critical projects while supporting the museum to around 6 million visitors annually. This is a crucial role, involving working closely with senior stakeholders, supply-chain partners, and the support teams across the museum.
The post holder to ensure that the British Museum’s complex Grade 1 listed estate comply with all relevant statutory maintenance regulations, supporting the oversight of the third-party facilities management (FM) supplier.
You will be responsible for the development and delivery of work plans and project support in the fields of FM and Building Compliance, Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery, Asset Management, FMWS Projects, Post-Mobilisations Transition of BM_ARC and provision of technical support for the Energy Centre Programme, Masterplan and Western Range projects.
You will be the key contact for all matters relating to statutory compliances and technical advice on behalf of Facilities Management and Workplace Services (FMWS).
Key areas of responsibility:
- To provide technical support with regards to MEP, life safety and critical systems as required.
- Monitor ongoing development of Track Record system architecture, reporting requirements, asset, and system information.
- To complete a technical review of specific critical systems and spaces, provide reports that identify weaknesses and single points of failure to improve the Museums understanding of site and system operation under power failure scenarios.
- To review and develop change control procedures for estate assets.
- Develop property and asset management services and lead on the procurement of property.
- To work with Capital Development in delivery of Energy Centre programme and Western Range, attend meetings as required, providing technical support, review and critique of reports, proposals/recommendations.
- To provide ongoing technical assistance to FM, Hard FM Supply Chain, Security, IS and Collections, Project Director and Capital Development.
