Job Description

The role

This global offshore law firm is looking for a corporate lawyer to join one of the leading transactional teams in the market. The team fields alumni from some of the top firms in the global onshore market including the Magic Circle and top tier US firms. For the right person, this really could be the dream move.

It offers exposure to high-quality international corporate work with a strong focus on private M&A (particularly relating to venture capital fund investments). The client base is comparable to any top-tier onshore firm, and the work is technically complex, fast-moving, and highly rewarding. Team sizes are smaller than a typical firm of this quality onshore, so you can expect plenty of client contact, often working closely with a Partner but taking on a great deal of responsibility in your own right.

Prospects for career development are good, with the firm having a structured route for progression through the ranks, and numerous Partners who have done just that.

The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years PQE but more senior candidates are also being considered. Candidates must have at least 2.5 years PQE to start the process due to work permit restrictions.

The Cayman Islands

A world-class international financial centre, Grand Cayman offers lawyers the opportunity to do high-quality and complex work that compares favourably with that in a leading onshore law firm. Outside of work, the climate lends itself to an outdoors lifestyle whether that be diving, sailing, relaxing on the beach or enjoying a bite to eat at a waterfront restaurant. Life here is good; rarely does anyone regret making the move.

Process

Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates typically around 4-6 months later (depending on your notice period). The firm will provide comprehensive assistance with visas and relocation.

Package

Highly attractive tax-free salary, full benefits, bonus and generous relocation allowance.

Requirements

You will need to be UK/Ireland or Commonwealth qualified (Australia/New Zealand/Canada/South Africa). 3 years’ PQE is required for work permit reasons.
