Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist in Broadmoor Hospital.
In 2019, we moved into the new hospital, which provides a modern, state-of-the-art, high secure facility for patients from across London and southern England that meets national and local policy requirements. The environment is safe and secure in relation to protection of the public, visitors, staff and patients. It is designed to maximise the delivery of modern clinical care.
We are seeking a forensic psychiatrist who is enthusiastic, is focused on providing high quality care for patients, has proven clinical and leadership skills and is able to manage highly complex patients in a high secure setting. In recognition of the skills required, the post attracts a £20K recruitment and retention payment.
There are opportunities for research and engagement in quality improvement projects and for career development.
Main Duties:
- Being the Responsible Clinician for patients on one of our ISAT (increased support and assertive treatment) wards.
- Providing clinical leadership to your multidisciplinary team/teams.
- Being a clinical supervisor (training provided).
- Participating in a non-resident on-call.
- Carrying out assessments of patients referred to the service.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Engaging in quality improvement and audit projects.
