Morgan McKinley is partnering with a fast-growing PE backed business in Cardiff, to recruit a Financial Controller into a brand-new role!
Reporting into the Finance Director, this is a key position which will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the Group, lead and develop the finance function and support the Finance Director with the strategy.
As this is a newly created role, there is a great opportunity to make your mark and have an impact, and you will be responsible for embedding processes and governance across the Group as the accounting function is brought back in-house.
Specific responsibilities will include:

Oversight of financial processes, including banking, purchases and GL reporting

Liaise with the processing outsourced provider

Work with the Business Systems team to ensure that financial systems are in place and fit for purpose

Ensure regulatory and statutory reporting requirements are met

Manage the month end reporting process

Ensure strong cash management and cashflow forecasting systems are in place

Involvement with investment appraisals and M&A / Disposal activity
To be considered for this role you will need to be a Qualified Accountant with PQE, perhaps having qualified in practice and looking for your second move in industry. You will need to be flexible, with a positive mindset and great communication skills, and the confidence to deputise for the Finance Director when required.
You will also need strong technical financial accounting skills, and ideally working knowledge of corporation tax and VAT, along with the ability to business partner and build strong stakeholder relationships as a key member of the Leadership team.
