Position: Facilities Engineer – Quality
Location: Portsmouth (on-site)
Type: Full-time Contract (9 months with possible extension), inside IR35.
About the Role:
Belcan is on the lookout for a dedicated and detail-oriented Facilities Engineer (quality), to join our client’s Technical Facilities Services team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for monitoring and inspecting various activities to ensure they align with project management milestones. You’ll also provide technical support during the construction phases of all projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and sustainability requirements.
This is an office based role with a mix of facilities engineering and project management. Your key responsibilities will include supporting the development of specifications, including feasibility study requirements, and attending design reviews such as Preliminary, Critical, and Final Design Reviews. You’ll lead and provide technical input for mechanical, electrical, and building fabric requirements, and liaise with Technical Facilities engineers to ensure compliance with local and national standards. Additionally, you’ll advise and coach project management teams on issues and resolutions, review and discuss assets to be removed and installed, and liaise with Asset Management teams to ensure the suitability of asset information.
What you will bring:
To excel in this role, you’ll need a strong understanding of the construction process, installation maintenance, building systems and interfaces, asset management, as well as knowledge of Construction Design and Management Regulations. While this is largely an office based position, knowledge and previous experience of being on tools will be essential. An understanding of quality management systems and familiarity with British and European Standards are also important.
