About the company

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a leading high-end low-volume client who specializes in Supercars. They are looking for a Powertrain Design Engineer to join their team on a long-term rolling contract basis working 45 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Engine component design experience – aluminium castings, machined rotating/reciprocating parts, seals, moulded ducts, intake systems, etc.
  • Good drawing standards, GPS/GD&T in accordance with BS 8888.
  • Principal capable of leading a team of Design Engineers, scheming/conceiving parts and systems and detail design.
  • Design Engineers capable of managing their own workload and operating autonomously, more basic concept design and detail design.
  • CATIA V5 preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • CATIA V5/V6 2D/3D skills with GD&T application experience.
  • A high level of technical knowledge & experience of Powertrain component & system design, packaging, engine test & production.
  • Educated to degree level in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
  • A passion for high-performance powertrain engineering.
  • Adopts a creative & thoughtful approach to concept design and solving engineering problems with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent feasibility assessment skills including design for manufacture.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a high level of self-motivation to deliver excellence.
