Job Description:

Our client, a well-established multi-disciplinary consultancy based in West London, is actively looking to add a Building Surveyor / Project Manager to their growing team. They have offices across the country, but due to an exciting pipeline of projects, they require a Building Surveyor to join them from their London office. The role will focus on project-based works, contract administration, and project management duties across a large array of industry sectors.

Building Surveyor / Project Manager Position Overview

  1. Pre-contract advice on construction, contract, or cost aspects of building surveying work including feasibilities.
  2. Conduct detailed inspections and assessments of existing buildings, identifying defects, preparing detailed reports, and providing expert advice on maintenance, repair, and refurbishment strategies.
  3. Lead building surveying projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and client requirements.
  4. Preparation of specifications, obtaining tenders, and preparing contract documents.
  5. Provide advice to clients and junior team members on effective approaches to procurement.
  6. Contract administration, valuation, and certification including chairing meetings with associated document preparation.
  7. Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic guidance on properties, dilapidations, party wall matters, and other building-related issues.
  8. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  9. Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices.
  10. Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.

Building Surveyor / Project Manager Position Requirements

  1. MRICS status or working towards it.
  2. Extensive experience in Building Surveying within the construction industry, with project-based works experience being ideal.
  3. Experience in client-facing roles, ideally with a private consultancy background.
  4. Valid UK driving licence.

  1. Salary: £40k – £65k (Guide only – DOE)
