Escape Recruitment is looking for a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client’s team in South Lanarkshire. This role offers the chance to work on the design and development of a range of engineering products.
The Role:

Design and develop new and existing products such as salt spreaders, tippers, and RoRo systems.

Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and BOMs.
-
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project requirements are met.
-
Support manufacturing by providing hands–on engineering solutions.

Assist in project pricing, subcontractor selection, and production monitoring.

Work with MRP systems to track material and labour requirements.

Ensure designs meet customer specifications, industry standards, and cost targets.
What You Need:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

Industry experience is preferred.

Proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD software).
-
Experience in sheet metal design and vehicle body building is desirable.
-
Knowledge of hydraulic and electric schematics is beneficial but not essential.

Understanding of mechanical assemblies and manufacturing techniques.

Strong organisational and problem–solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
What’s on Offer:

Salary: 28,000 – 42,000 (depending on experience).

25 days annual leave plus 9 statutory days.

Employer pension contribution of 4%.

Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30.
