Our client is a large fabrication company servicing the Offshore industry from their busy North East facility. Due to recent projects won they now require a Maintenance Engineer on a full time permanent basis.
The Role
As a maintenance engineer you will be working on a varied set of tasks that change from day to day.
There will be a mixture of work including:
Planned maintenance
Reactive maintenance
Improvement projects
Legal compliance checks / activities
Safety checks / activities
Problem solving, root cause fix.
Keeping records of work done and handing over work to other shifts
Supporting the creation of maintenance plans and activities
The Person
Apprenticeship or qualifications in a maintenance discipline e.g. apprenticeship as a mechanical technician, electrical technician, BTEC in Operations and Maintenance
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure
Interpersonal and people-management skills
Ability to understand a variety of engineering procedures and functions
Team-working skills to liaise and work cooperatively with individuals at all levels
Negotiation skills and the ability to persuade others
Working at height is mandatory requirement.
Training can be provided for MEWPs and cherry pickers if not qualified.
Willingness to drive a forklift truck would be an advantage. Training can be provided.
Willingness to alternate between day shift and late shift on a weekly basis.
