The project:
Mace is seeking to appoint an experienced construction manager to plan, direct, manage, and oversee implementation construction projects to ensure the client goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed schedule, budget, and defined health, safety, and quality parameters. Effective communication with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and consultants is required. The role will direct the construction teams and provide internal and external coordination and collaboration.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Delivering the project from pre-contract to construction and handover stages.
- Directing the contractors on their roles and responsibilities regarding health and safety procedures and complying with safety sustainability policy and procedures.
- Overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion.
- Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimating costs.
- Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
- Coordinating and directing construction workers and subcontractors.
- Reviewing the work progress on a daily basis.
- Preparing internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
- Planning ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
- Evaluating, managing, and mitigating risks.
- Ensuring quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Ensuring that all work is executed as per the approved drawings and in line with drawing/amendments issued from time to time.
- Planning and directing site activities to mitigate delays and manage multiple schedules.
- Reviewing and validating as-built drawings with respect to works executed submitted by contractors on site.
You’ll need to have:
- Time management and organisational skills.
- Strong influencing and people management skills.
- Industry experience.
- Nuclear/defence experience required.
You’ll also have:
- Degree qualifications or BTEC/HNC of relevant trade background qualifications (i.e., NVQ, City Guilds) preferred.
- SMSTS, CSCS.
- First Aid trained.
- Nuclear and Defence experience preferable.
