The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.

Hours 40 hours a week (5 days), including lunch breaks, worked Monday-Friday.

As Artsadmin heads towards its 50thyear of producing and supporting extraordinary work by ground-breaking artists and creatives, we’re seeking similarly brilliant people to join the team and help us continue to adapt to the world around us.

The role of Assistant Producer will work closely with the Head of Programme and two Producers (Projects & Touring and Artist Support & Development) to contribute to the smooth delivery of a diverse programme of work, supporting the work and lives of artists working in contemporary performance practices. Through this role you’ll gain an insight into producing arts events and programmes, experience of working in a small, busy and creative team, and the opportunity to be mentored by experienced arts professionals

The postholder will support the smooth running of the Artist Support Programme and Projects & Touring portfolio in line with a newly developed Artistic Strategy and Business Plan. They’ll be engaged in reflecting on the practical application of these new strategic developments and will contribute to their ongoing development to ensure artist-centred principles (founded in practice) continue to run through Artsadmin’s organisational plans.

Skills and Experience Required

The ideal candidate is likely to have an interest or specialism in one or more contemporary performance practice, experience of working or being part of artistic projects, as well as some understanding of the arts sector landscape in the UK and beyond. We are looking for someone highly motivated and passionate about the arts, with excellent administration and organisational skills to support a range of existing projects, programmes and tours, and an aptitude for problem solving and teamwork.

Essentialexperience, knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • An understanding of Artsadmin’s position in the UK cultural sector
  • Experience of producing or assistant producing arts projects or events for public audiences
  • A demonstrable interest in contemporary performing arts, including Artsadmin’s work
  • Experience of working directly with creative practitioners
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to work flexibly and a positive attitude to learning
  • Excellent organisational skills, with proven ability for problem solving, dealing with multiple timelines and priorities, meeting tight deadlines while keeping a close eye on the detail
  • A friendly, effective communicator, skilled at building and maintaining relationships with lots of different people (including artists, producers and partners), and working as part of a collaborative team
  • Knowledge of Tower Hamlets (the borough where Artsadmin is based)
  • A good understanding of project evaluation and data collection and entry
  • Experience of budget tracking, invoice processing and financial administration
  • Proficient at working with a range of apps to ensure the smooth running of projects and to support collaboration, including the Microsoft 365 suite and CRM databases
  • Proven commitment to embedding access, inclusion, sustainability, compassion and care in your ways of working and working relationships

Desirable experience, knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Experience of delivering online, digitally presented, and/or hybrid digital projects
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Experience of working in community settings
  • Experience of contracting artists and creative collaborators with an understanding of UK Theatre /ITC and Equity contracts
  • Knowledge of design software (e.g, Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, audio, and video editing etc)
