Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Team Manager within the Transitions Team to work Full Time based in Haringey.

The salary for this permanent Team Manager job is up to £59,328 per annum.

Main duties:

  • Manage and supervise a team of Social Workers, Social Work Students, and administrative staff. This includes recruitment and resourcing, induction and development, and management of employee productivity and conduct using formal management processes where necessary.
  • Manage the workload of the team, ensuring that the care management process is robust, assessments of need demonstrate good practice, and that case reviews are carried out on time while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, eligibility criteria, and department policy.
  • Manage a commissioning budget by closely monitoring the cost of care packages.
  • Support the Council in analyzing the use of the team budget and identifying areas for financial efficiencies to ensure best value.
  • Ensure that care packages are innovative, cost-effective, and aligned with assessed needs by embedding a Strengths-based approach in team practice, providing regular feedback to staff via Supervision, ‘My Conversations,’ and Team Meetings.
  • Contribute to overall service planning and implementation of service developments. Work with health professionals to ensure seamless services for transitioning young people, particularly those requiring hospital discharge planning, continuing and palliative care, and joint packages of care.
  • Ensure that young person and parent carer involvement is paramount, with care act assessments prioritized and of high quality.
  • Maintain case file recording and young people information on ICS and the adults social care system, ensuring completion according to standards and linkage to Performance Indicators.
  • Identify staff training needs and ensure high standards of professional practice through systemic individual and team development as well as management of staff performance and productivity.
  • Within delegated authority, investigate complaints from Council Members, MPs, and members of the public according to department procedures.
  • Undertake any other duties consistent with the basic objectives of the post as may be required from time to time by the line manager.
  • Undertake any other temporary responsibilities aligned with the overall purpose and grade of the role.

Requirements of this Team Manager role:

  • A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant legislation.
