We have two Procurement Manager roles available.

Overview:

The HHRP Procurement Manager(s) will play a key role in the successful delivery of the Hinchingbrooke Hospital Redevelopment Programme (HHRP) , ensuring best value procurement and contract management for one of the largest capital investment projects in the NHS.

This role will lead on strategic procurement activities, ensuring compliance with Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023 , while developing innovative sourcing strategies that align with the Hospital 2.0 vision and sustainability goals . The post holder will oversee high-value procurement processes, negotiate with suppliers, and support business case development to drive cost efficiencies and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

As the Procurement Manager , you will be responsible for delivering strategic procurement support across all aspects of the Hinchingbrooke Hospital Redevelopment Programme . You will:

  1. Develop and implement a commercial strategy that ensures high-value procurement and supplier performance management.
  2. Lead end-to-end procurement processes, from tendering to contract award, ensuring regulatory compliance and value for money.
  3. Work closely with NHS England, the Treasury, and external partners to ensure alignment with national and regional procurement frameworks.
  4. Establish and maintain strong relationships with contractors, consultants, and suppliers , ensuring service excellence and risk mitigation.
  5. Support the Trust’s cost improvement programme , optimising non-pay savings and identifying innovative procurement opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  1. Postgraduate degree or equivalent senior procurement experience within a commercial environment.
  2. Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) membership .
  3. Proven experience managing high-value procurement projects in a complex environment, ideally within healthcare or the public sector.
  4. Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and the ability to lead supplier negotiations to achieve the best contractual outcomes.
  5. Knowledge of NHS procurement policies , including the Carter Report, NHS eProcurement, and Integrated Care Systems (ICS) procurement strategies.
