Job Description:
The role is to support the Director of Client Accounting and Reporting working on our Public REIT in delivering the financial accounting and reporting function for Regional REIT Limited.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparing consolidated management accounts on a quarterly basis.
- Preparation and analysis of financial forecasts and cashflow forecasts.
- Leading the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal stakeholders and external regulators.
- Management and supervision of the financial accounting team alongside the Director of Client Accounting and Reporting.
- Collaboration with Asset Management and Property Management teams on ad hoc queries/projects and supporting investment acquisition and disposals.
- Regularly reviewing and challenging existing processes to identify efficiencies and mitigate risks.
- Oversight of the preparation of indirect tax returns including VAT and CIS across the team.
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ICAS preferable) with either practice or in-house experience (4 years post qualified minimum).
- Degree qualified in accounting, finance or a related field.
- Familiarity with UK and International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Strong analytical ability and natural problem solver, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Extensive experience in financial management, budgeting and forecasting.
- Financial accounting and control experience within the Real Estate fund’s industry is advantageous.
- Able to demonstrate experience of implementation of efficiencies identified within operational/financial processes.
- Strong project and relationship management skills with experience managing a third-party relationship and the ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively.
- Managerial or supervisory experience of an accounting team or function is desirable.
- Experience dealing with audit teams and managing an audit process.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail oriented and thorough.
- Commercially aware/professional.
- Excellent IT skills and full proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel capability.
Holidays: 25 days per year plus 10 bank holidays and local public holidays in Scotland.
