Data Scientist

Location: Manchester (Hybrid - 2 to 3 days on-site)

Salary: Up to £55,000 + benefits

I'm recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing eCommerce business in Manchester that is looking for a Data Scientist to join their team. It's a hands-on role with a real opportunity to build and deploy machine learning models that directly impact how they serve and retain customers. They have rich datasets from web traffic, transactions, and customer behaviour and they are keen to turn that into smarter recommendations, better pricing strategies, and predictive insights that drive growth.

You will be leading on end-to-end model development: exploring the data, experimenting with algorithms, tuning performance, and deploying models into production. This isn't a research role; they want someone who enjoys solving real business problems and seeing their work make a difference.

What they are looking for:

• Strong Python skills and experience with ML libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch
• A good understanding of the full ML lifecycle - from data wrangling to live deployment
• Comfortable working with both structured and unstructured datasets
• Ideally some experience deploying models via APIs or using cloud platforms like AWS or GCP

Bonus if you have:

• Experience of Regression Modelling, Time Series Forecasting and Cluster Modelling
• Familiarity with recommendation systems, customer segmentation or demand forecasting
