As a Paralegal employed by Apex Health Associates and working with Scott Harding-Lister (consultant to Scott Moncrief & Associates) you will support the legal team in delivering high-quality legal services across various practice areas. You will work under the supervision of qualified solicitors and legal professionals, gaining hands-on experience in legal research, drafting documents, client care, and case management. This role is designed to develop your skills and understanding of legal practice while contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal services provided., * Provide ethical legal services in line with regulatory standards and the policies of Scott Moncrief & Associates.

  • Ensure high standards of client care and always act in the best interest of the client.

  • Maintain professionalism in all aspects of work.

  • Assist in the provision of legal advice by qualified legal professionals at Scott Moncrief & Associates.

  • Provide administrative and research support on legal matters for solicitors.

  • Conduct routine legal research under supervision.

  • Present findings and relevant information to support legal professionals at Scott Moncrief & Associates in decision-making.

  • Assist in the initial review of legal documents such as witness statements, meeting notes, contracts, and lease agreements.

  • Produce varied correspondence and draft legal documents using digital tools under supervision.

  • Proof-read legal documents to ensure accuracy.

  • Support the use of digital technology and tools within the legal firm.

  • Utilise digital platforms to enhance work efficiency and streamline legal processes at Scott Moncrief & Associates.

  • Engage with clients and stakeholders professionally, adapting communication styles as appropriate.

  • Escalate issues and concerns in line with the policies of Scott Moncrief & Associates.

  • Manage your own workload using the firm’s case management systems.

  • Review and progress casework while identifying potential problems for escalation.

  • Deliver paralegal tasks in line with Scott Moncrief & Associates’ commercial strategy, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints such as time billing and fee structures.

  • Assist in providing excellent customer service on routine casework.

  • Ensure that services provided align with the client’s needs and expectations.

  • Assist in performing Know Your Client (KYC) checks to ensure appropriate legal services are provided.

  • Administer and manage client and organisational data securely in line with legal requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with data protection legislation and best practices.

  • Ensure that transactions and duties are carried out securely to protect Scott Moncrief & Associates from risks such as money laundering, fraud, and cybercrime.

  • Recognise the limits of your knowledge and expertise, escalating tasks and instructions that exceed your competence to more experienced colleagues., * Work closely with solicitors, other paralegals, and administrative staff at Scott Moncrief & Associates to ensure smooth operation of legal processes and to support the team in achieving its objectives.

  1. Ongoing Training and Development:
  • Participate in regular training sessions, workshops, and one-on-one mentoring sessions to continuously develop legal knowledge and practical skills.
  1. Time Management:
  • Prioritise tasks effectively, managing multiple case files and legal assignments to meet deadlines and ensure smooth workflow.
  1. Adaptability and Problem-Solving:
  • Be prepared to handle changing priorities and adapt to new tasks as directed by supervising solicitors.

  • Assist in identifying potential issues in casework and propose appropriate solutions or escalate matters when necessary.

  1. Effective Communication:
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, legal professionals, and other stakeholders, ensuring that information is conveyed accurately and in a timely manner.

  • GCSEs and A levels

  • Pursuing a Law degree or graduated with a Law degree.

  • Interest in pursuing a legal career.

  • Basic understanding of legal principles.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Competent in using digital tools and case management software.

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied workload.
