In a nutshell:
You’ll be driving insights across a variety of different areas in Engineering (Supply Chain, Maintenance, Engineering, Cabins, Commercial, you name it!) to deliver operational excellence across a dynamic operation. Examples of this could be supporting cabin maintenance, to give our customers and Crew the best experience possible or to optimise our supply chain – to get the right things in the right place at the right time! This is an opportunity to experience a wide variety and flex your data skills – no 2 days are ever the same.
Day to day:
- You will champion best practices in data modelling and visualisation to present accessible insights to non-data stakeholders, presenting findings in an intuitive and impactful manner.
- You’ll develop and maintain data models to support BI reporting needs, ensuring they are optimised for performance, scalability and successfully integrated with existing data architecture.
- As an Analyst, you will support the Manager – Business Improvement with the alignment of analytics, insights and reporting initiatives in line with E&M (Engineering & Maintenance) strategy and contribute to the development and maintenance of data governance policies in a compliance critical environment – ensuring high data quality and accuracy.
- You will collaborate with departments across E&M and Virgin Atlantic, providing data and insights clearly and comprehensively, supporting the relevant data owners and stewards across E&M when required, and ensure timely and accurate delivery to support decision-making.
About you:
We’re seeking an all-round data player, interested in data engineering, data science, data visualisation and everything in between to work in our Engineering & Maintenance area as an Analyst. If this sounds like you, and you meet or exceed this we’d love to hear from you!
- Experienced in data modelling, BI reporting, data analysis or a related field.
- Degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience working with Supply Chain, Finance or Commercial data is desirable.
- Strong proficiency in data visualisation and BI tools and technologies such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms, with a track record of creating high-quality reports and dashboards.
- Experience with advanced data analysis tools such as Python, R, SQL, and in developing and maintaining data models optimised for performance and scalability.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, Databricks is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide technical support and training, working effectively with cross-functional teams, and ensure high data quality and accurate documentation.
