HW Global is exclusively partnering with Manchester United to appoint a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Finance Director to join their senior leadership team.
The finance team plays a critical role in ensuring the club\’s long-term financial strength, supporting strategic growth, and driving operational excellence to help build a sustainable future for Manchester United.
Job Summary:
As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will shape the club’s financial strategy, ensure compliance, and drive business growth. Working closely with the CFO, you will contribute to board and executive committee discussions and act as deputy CFO when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning & Financial Operations:
Align financial strategies with overall organisational goals. Oversee financial operations, providing insights to support decision-making. - Treasury Management:
Develop and implement treasury strategies to optimise cash flow and liquidity. Manage capital allocation, banking relationships, and debt financing. - Tax Compliance:
Oversee corporate tax strategy and ensure regulatory compliance. Identify potential tax risks and develop mitigation plans. - SOX Reporting:
Oversee the delivery of a control environment to comply with SOX requirements. Collaborate with internal audit teams to ensure best practices. - Financial Risk Management:
Assess and mitigate financial risks across the organisation. Ensure adherence to financial regulations and provide strategic guidance. - Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A):
Lead financial due diligence and valuation for M&A activities. Manage post-acquisition integration to maximise value. - Insurance:
Oversee corporate insurance strategy and manage claims. Ensure compliance with NYSE and SEC reporting requirements. Oversee the preparation of all financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Skills & Experience:
- You will be a qualified Accountant and will hold a recognised accounting qualification.
- Experience: You will bring experience from senior corporate finance roles within a dynamic entrepreneurial and commercial organisation.
- Finance Expertise: You will be able to lead key finance functions like tax, treasury, M&A, and financial reporting.
- Regulatory Knowledge: A strong understanding of corporate tax, treasury, and financial regulations would be beneficial.
- Analytical Prowess: You have solid financial modelling and analytical skills.
- Leadership & Communication: You are comfortable managing large teams and communicating effectively.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP systems, financial software, and advanced Excel is a plus.
- Adaptability: You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and can juggle multiple projects when needed.
