Our public sector client is currently looking for an Environmental Health Officer to join their team on an initial 3 month contract. This role will focus on Food Safety and The Environmental Health Officer will undertake inspections, offer advice and support and carrying out enforcements. You will undertake inspections and other interventions to verify food businesses are meeting food hygiene, food standards and/ or health and safety legal requirements, as well as meeting benchmark standards in associated guidance and established codes of practice. The successful Environmental Health Officer should have the following skills, knowledge and experience: * Demonstrable practical experience in food safety or health and safety inspections. * Be able to demonstrate continuing professional development and ongoing competencies in the field of food safety and health and safety * Experience of working in Local Government * Knowledge, understanding and ability to interpret and apply food safety and health and safety legislation and relevant statutory provisions, codes of practice and practice guidance * The role will be a mixture of remote from home and also site visits.
