The Financial Business Partner is responsible for monthly accounting, annual planning, forecasting, reporting and analytics associated with Tideway Tunnel; acting as a key partner to the business. They provide advice, guidance and subject matter expertise on all financial reporting matters, preparing monthly financial reports for Senior Leadership and external parties.
What you’ll be doing as a Finance Business Partner
- Responsible for compiling, uploading and supporting the Totex annual budgeting, reporting Integrated Business Plan and quarterly forecasting for each respective Business Unit including reporting impact of Opex / Capex / cashflow performance and Risks and Opportunities.
- To provide the high-quality financial information that the business requires to operate effectively and efficiently, including specific analysis, cost drivers, and understand the impact of recommendations to assist in decision making.
- Providing insightful analysis that links business performance with financial results and ensures effective commercial and operational decisions are made.
- Respond to ad hoc requests for analytics, to provide support to Business Partners for costs viability in accordance with OFWAT regulations.
- As a key financial liaison, partner with the various departments across Finance and the business to deliver correct regulatory compliance and improved financial awareness on key stage events.
- Maintaining external reporting requirements and researching accounting issues to help drive business accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Assist with Interim and Annual Tideway account reconciliations with clear understanding of movements in accounts.
Base Location: Reading – Hybrid
Working Pattern: 36 Hours

- Excellent knowledge of providing financial insight, preparing annual plans, forecasts.
- Very strong analytical and forecasting abilities.
- Highly effective communication skills (listening and presenting ideas).
- Collaborative work style but also take ownership to complete tasks independently.
- Ability to interact with leadership, key stakeholders, employees. Ability to effectively prioritise multiple projects to meet deadlines and produce high quality work in a fast paced environment.
- Accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, CPA, CMA, CHAE or equivalent) – experience of FP&A
