Renewables Commissioning and Service Manager

Climate17 is thrilled to be working with an established and fast-growing pioneer in the renewable energy sector and is dedicated to clean energy use. They make complicated innovative technology simple, easy to install, enjoyable, clean, and aesthetically appealing. Their intelligent management unit has been designed to manage energy especially renewable energy in several behind-the-meter applications. With years dedicated to research and development, their smart and sustainable solutions have proven value in practice and can be deployed quickly and at a low cost for clients.

Role

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Commissioning and Service Manager will be responsible for overseeing project commissioning and ongoing service operations of our battery and energy management systems, within the UK and Europe, ensuring they meet or exceed performance standards and customer expectations. The successful candidate will lead a team to commission projects and provide post-delivery technical support. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality and reliable renewable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain safe systems of work in support commissioning activity.
  • Develop and implement commissioning plans, ensuring adherence to industry standards and specifications.
  • Conduct thorough testing, troubleshooting, and system optimization during the commissioning phase.
  • Ensure commissioning documentation is finalised to formally handover commissioned product to customers.
  • Coordinate with engineering and project managers to facilitate a seamless transition to customer handover.

Post Delivery Support:

  • Establish and maintain ticketing system for capturing, managing and tracking customer service requests.
  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules and protocols to minimize downtime and maximize system efficiency through FRACAS.
  • Manage and execute maintenance in accordance with SLA.
  • Lead and mentor a team of service technicians, providing training and support for continuous improvement.

Customer Relations:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers during commissioning and throughout the service life of products.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with sales and business development teams to identify opportunities for additional services and upgrades.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in electrical engineering or similar.
  • Proven experience in commissioning and servicing renewable energy projects, with a focus on battery storage solar and wind.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of renewable energy systems, components, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with electrical regulations, best practices, and standard components.
  • Familiarity with IT and communication network systems.
  • High level of IT and networking ability.
  • Good MS Office skills, and ability to learn new software tools.
  • Full UK driving licence.
