The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.

To provide, as part of a team, 24 hour support to adults with severe learning disabilities and complex care needs. The post involves providing support with all aspects of daily living, 1. Offer personal care to residents in a respectful, dignified and non judgmental manner using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment if required and participate in training relevant to this.

  1. Support residents in accessing and participating in community based activities such as Adult education classes, social events, sports groups etc

  2. Participating in sleeping-in duty, waking night duties, and work at evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.

  3. Responsibility for the ongoing management of the establishment in the absence of supervisory staff.

At least six months experience in a paid or unpaid capacity working directly with adults with learning disabilities. NVQ3 Required for qualified post

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITY

  • Ability and knowledge to help promote the independence of service users and ensure needs relating to their physical, emotional intellectual and social being are met.

  • Ability to offer personal/physical care to residents in a dignified and non – judgmental manner using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment if required and participate in training relevant to this.

  • Experience of working with people from different racial backgrounds and cultures. Ability to develop, plan and implement individual and group programmes/activities for clients. To enable clients to develop their skills and access community resources.

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with people with disabilities and their carers. Ability to communicate and work effectively with other staff and other professionals and outside agencies
