We are looking for an experienced Principal Scientist/ Team Leader to join our contaminated sites team in Perth , Australia. Relocation package available and sponsorship considered. Make your move to WA today!
Based at our Subiaco office with flexibility to work from both office and home, this is an opportunity to grow and develop your career whilst working with a great team of environmental engineers, scientists, geologists, hydrologists, and hydrogeologists, providing contaminated land assessment and remediation consulting on a wide range of projects.
About The Role
As a Principal Scientist/ Team Leader Contaminated Sites Consultant, you will:
- Manage field investigation programs and review laboratory data, including tabulation and interpretation of analytical results to inform appropriate remedial and/or management requirements.
- Prepare technical reports for contamination (PSI, SAQP, DSI, RAP, SRV) and Acid Sulfate Soils (ASSDMP, Closure Reports).
- Assist in HazMat surveys and HazMat clearance inspections and develop HazMat Management Plans (HMMPs) and clearance certificates.
- Develop human health and ecological risk assessments.
- Conceive, design and manage large projects.
- Evaluate/analyse field and technical data.
- Undertake and present independent studies, analysis, interpretations, conclusions and decisions.
- Coordinate work programs and the use of project resources.
- Liaise with clients and regulators.
- Mentor and coach junior Scientists, fostering their professional growth and development within the team.
About You
The successful candidate will be tertiary qualified in Environmental / Earth Science, Chemistry, Geology or a related field who has:
- 10+ years’ experience in Contaminated Sites / Remediation.
- Experience in the assessment and remediation of contaminated sites in Australia and a sound working knowledge of NEPM 2013, HEPA 2020, DWER 2021 and DoH 2021 guidance.
- Experience of Acid Sulfate Soils.
- Experience in HazMat Audit and Removals Supervision.
- Excellent report and proposal writing skills with the ability to prepare technical reports.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Desirable experience and qualifications:
- Certified Environmental Practitioner is desirable.
- Qualifications relating to asbestos management is deemed to be favourable; CPCCBC4051A Supervise Asbestos Removal, CPCCDE3014A Remove Non-friable Asbestos, CPCCDE3015A Remove Friable Asbestos.
- Experience with ESdat and Alpha Tracker.
