What is the opportunity?

As a key member of the Finance Resource Optimisation team, you will be focusing on supporting the optimisation of legal entity structures and financial resources (capital, leverage, balance sheet) within the European Region and across all business platforms.

You will work alongside the head of Finance Resource Optimisation on a range of initiatives, some of which will require you to be self-driven and work independently, while others will require a collaborative effort with the head of the team.

The team offers the opportunity to build relationships and networks with senior members from across Finance, Corporate Treasury, Risk Management, and the business platforms.

What will you do?

  • Supporting the head of the team on projects related to legal entity and financial resource optimisation.
  • Supporting the business and other functions to develop opportunities for optimisation.
  • Responsible for the preparation of materials and analysis to enable decision-making on the optimisation of legal entity structures and/or financial resources (capital, leverage, balance sheet, etc.) within the European Region and across all business platforms.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the FRO strategy meeting pack for presentation in the FRO strategy meeting with the European CFO and applicable Senior Leadership Team.
  • Responsible for the preparation and collation of the materials and minutes of London Assets & Liabilities Committee (ALCO) and facilitating a preview meeting with the Chair.
  • Responsible for producing the ALCO updates to the Audit Committee & CM Executive Committee.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • University degree in a relevant field with an emphasis on finance, business, or mathematics or similar/equivalent.
  • Qualified accountant.
  • Strong understanding of Wholesale Markets businesses.
  • Experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders across the business and functions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Well-organised, able to work on multiple tasks, and deadline-oriented.

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of UK and EU banking prudential regulations.
  • Understanding of capital-driven measures.
