Currently recruiting for an experienced Well Intervention Engineer on a contract basis for an E&P company based in central Aberdeen. It is a 6-month contract position that will likely involve occasional offshore travel, and the company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role.
The Well Intervention Engineer will be responsible for the onshore planning, as well as the safe and efficient offshore execution of all well intervention activities. Reporting to the Well Intervention Superintendent, the Well Intervention Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Preparing detailed well intervention work programmes.
- Interfacing effectively with other teams (e.g. Duty Holders, Asset, Subsurface, Supply Chain, Finance) to safely and successfully deliver the well intervention.
- Ensuring detailed risk assessments are prepared for planned well operations and risks are managed and mitigated as appropriate.
- Providing support to rig-based well operations as needed.
- Capturing and closing out lessons learned and analysis of NPT events.
- Preparing and evaluating tenders. Acting as Technical Sponsor for certain contracts.
- Supporting the contractor management process by developing positive relationships with contractors and suppliers. Ensuring contractor delivery against KPIs/scorecards.
- Preparing and submitting End of Well Reports in a timely manner.
- Responsible for the maintenance of well intervention records and ensuring that any changes to well status, as a result of a well intervention, are noted.
- Preparing cost estimates and AFEs and monitoring of expenditures.
- Developing positive relationships with the Well Examiner and regulatory organisations and liaising effectively with them.
- Participating in the wells’ duty rota and provides support to the Incident Management Team (IMT) in the event of a relevant incident.
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate peer reviews and/or risk assessments are held for planned well intervention activity, with all required actions closed out.
- Responsible for ensuring change is identified during operations and that the appropriate MOC standards are followed, and appropriate steps are taken.
- Close liaising with the Production Engineering Teams and Production Technologists complying with WISOR’s and utilising the EIKOS Management System.
- Covering for Senior Well Intervention Engineer during periods of absence.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Level 4 – IWCF Well Intervention Pressure Control Certification is essential.
- Current/valid offshore certification would be preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar Well Intervention Engineer type role, directly within the North Sea Oil and Gas industry, is essential.
- Previous offshore well intervention experience is essential.
- A proven track record of successfully delivering well intervention operations and managing Offshore Well Intervention Teams is essential.
- Applicants should have a good understanding of interventions from LWI vessels.
- Applicants should have a good understanding of completion well design and execution.
- Applicants should have experience with well integrity operations.
