Field Application Engineer-Industrial Automation
We are looking for an experienced and technically astute Field Application Engineer for the team in UK and Ireland. The new colleague will support the sales team for the IABG business unit and as this is the first IABG FAE locally we are looking for a candidate with a wealth of experience working with OEMs, system integrators and panel builders.
The Main Responsibilities Are:
- Executing product introduction projects and related campaigns.
- Support customers and distributors in completing product installation and resolving technical problems.
- Reviewing solution projects.
- Reviewing project proposals and making decisions on detail issues.
- Tracking progress of projects.
- Proposing suggestions for improvement according to product requirements.
- Undertaking project management and job allocation.
- Conducting site surveys for quality problems and assisting R&D in conducting quality diagnoses.
- Industry testing before exiting factories and giving feedback.
- Proposing requirements according to product specifications, mark demand and related regulation.
- Proposing requirements according to product specifications, monitor and control execution status, coordinate project resources.
- Supporting pre sales and after sales activities along with Distributor updates.
- Create an industrial automation architecture with the customer to add value to the machine conversion.
- Assisting the customer with the machine development including helping them write the software.
- Undertake PLC programming, and work with Inverter Drives, Servo Drives, HMI and higher level software.
- Robotics sizing and programming.
- To work with OEMs, system integrators and panel builders.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of relevant experience to be able to undertake the above tasks.
- Degree or equivalent in Engineering.
- Excellent computer skills and software knowledge, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word. CODESYS knowledge and ability in PLC programming.
- Problem solver.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to interact positively with the customers and integrators.
- Able to develop the business or channel development through consultative selling skills.
- Architecture thinking ability.
- Good time management and use of systems to track project completion.
- Attention to detail.
- Able to understand product specifications.
- Willingness to travel.
- Ability to work autonomously and be a strong team player.
